Ensuring accessible, preventative, and holistic healthcare services to underserved rural communities across West Bengal.
KVSDS is committed to delivering both preventative and primitive healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of vulnerable rural populations, with a special focus on mothers, children, older persons, and marginalized families. Guided by Swami Vivekananda's ethos of serving humanity, our healthcare interventions address immediate medical needs while building long-term health literacy.
Our healthcare services operate in collaboration with district health authorities, panchayat bodies, and voluntary medical professionals to organize routine screening, health camps, and nutritional awareness campaigns.
Routine medical check-up camps, free diagnostic screenings, distribution of essential medicines, and basic pathological tests in remote villages.
Ante-natal and post-natal care guidance, child immunization support, malnutrition screening, and adolescent girls' reproductive health awareness.
Specialized health support for older persons suffering from chronic conditions, age-related vision impairment, joint mobility issues, and hypertension.
Community hygiene campaigns, clean drinking water awareness, water-borne disease mitigation, and household sanitation education.
Direct charitable healthcare delivery, free dispensary services, and disease eradication camps conducted by KVSDS this year.
Operating at the grassroots level in Kautala, the Basanti Devi Charitable Dispensary serves as a reliable healthcare sanctuary for rural patients, daily-wage laborers, and destitute families who cannot afford distant private hospital consultations. The dispensary conducts regular outpatient sessions, providing free doctor consultations, vital diagnostic checks (blood pressure, blood glucose, temperature, pulse oximetry), and free distribution of essential maintenance medicines and therapeutic drugs.
KVSDS organized intensive village-level health camps addressing major communicable and stigmatized diseases:
• Tuberculosis (TB): Sputum collection drives, early symptom detection, DOTS compliance counseling, and nutritional food support.
• Leprosy: Skin patch examinations, disability prevention guidance, and community stigma-reduction workshops.
• HIV / AIDS: Youth and adolescent education on transmission prevention, confidential counseling, and blood safety awareness.
To support bedridden patients, disabled villagers, and frail senior citizens across rural blocks of South 24 Parganas, KVSDS distributed essential medical mobility devices and diagnostic tools. Equipment distributed includes wheelchairs, quadripod walking canes, crutches, digital blood pressure monitors, glucometers with test strips, cervical collars, and home first-aid kits, restoring autonomy and physical comfort to underprivileged families.
