Fostering gender equity, financial self-reliance, social dignity, and rural leadership among women and adolescent girls in the Sundarbans and South 24 Parganas.
Empowering Women, Transforming Rural Society
At Kautala Vivekananda Social Development Society (KVSDS), we recognize that women are the cornerstone of healthy, resilient rural families. In remote areas across South 24 Parganas, many women face socioeconomic marginalization, limited access to formal credit, lack of vocational opportunities, and persistent gender disparities.
Our comprehensive Women Development & Empowerment Programme bridges these divides by building grassroots self-help networks, providing market-oriented trade training, facilitating institutional credit, and offering ongoing rights awareness and psycho-social support.
Self-Help Groups (SHGs) & Micro-Savings
Mobilizing rural women into cohesive Self-Help Groups, establishing regular thrift practices, maintaining bookkeeping standards, and linking them directly with nationalized banks for credit facilities.
